Nine years ago we tied the knot! 5 moves, two degrees, and one baby later we’re knocking on a decade. Clint was by far the hero of the evening! Between several impromptu trips, Clint’s victorious marathon, and launching our own business our anniversary completely snuck up on us! Clint worked overtime to find a babysitter for Lydia and found a surprise restaurant to try out all before 5 o’ clock and while working!

Lydia was super sweet. She was so excited to go play with her new “friends” for a while. As we were about to her at the babysitter, she said, “It’s all right, I know my mom and dad love me!” And that was it, she was off to go play.

Our first adventure of the evening. We’ve talked about trying sushi out for a long time and we finally took the plunge to give it a try. We made the rule that we would at least try anything on our plate no matter how it looked once it got to us! As you can see, I was a little nervous after we got our food. I thought we’d ordered sushi rolls (with the rice around the fish) but when it came it was just a slab of raw fish on a bit of sticky rice.

All in all, it was all right. We luckily also got an Alaskan roll (Smoked salmon with cucumber and avocado wrapped in sticky rice. That one is one of my favorite rolls actually).

After dinner, we walked down main street and talked. We accidentally stumbled upon a real live Speakeasy. Neither of us knew what that was at first but it was a fun little adventure we had no idea was right here in our little town.

We finished the evening by going to our favorite Gelato shop. It was such a fun evening full of new adventures. It was the perfect re-cap of all the adventures we have together and I can’t wait to see what the next decade brings!
